"The greatest glory in living, lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Nelson Mandela
Welcome to my private practice website.
To help people navigate their journey to live their best lives possible, I believe that resilience and hope are essential. I also believe that life's journey is made up of peaks, plateaus and valleys.
One significant step forward on this journey is learning to discover resilience, a necessary life skill. Research has shown that resilience is a process that can be learned! Resilience is the ability to recover quickly from difficulties and to persevere. Yet, in that process, I believe that there needs to be more than just a recovery or a rising. There needs to be insight, learning, growth, and hope as a result of that adversity, in other words, a rising and then a moving forward. Resilience leads to improved self esteem, improved coping skills, improved relationships, and improved health and overall well-being.
Living your best life includes the concept of well-being: a holistic concept that is comprised of your physical health, psychological health and quality of your social relationships. It also includes engagement or flow, finding meaning, and a sense of competence. Resilience is vital to well-being.
So, if you find yourself at a crossroads, where you find yourself in a valley facing depression, anxiety, low self esteem, ruminating about the past, relationship difficulties, or heading down a difficult path, please consider reaching out to a psychologist to help you with the suffering that you are feeling. Seeking help is one of the first steps towards greater resilience, one of hope for a better tomorrow. Finding an objective, empathic person to help guide and support you through these times is a promising path of hope. If you decide that you are ready to make this step, a psychologist can help you to recognize your strengths and to partner with you to identify and modify areas where you need help to heal from the past, to support you, and/or to make improvements in your present life.
Choosing a psychologist is not easy. Research shows that the relationship that you have with your psychologist is one of the most important factors in psychotherapy. I will be happy to talk with you to determine if I may partner with you on this journey to help you live your best life. If I am not the right person to help you meet your goals, I will be happy to refer you to someone more suitable. After all, it is your journey and you need to find the right person to accompany you!
My hope is to join you wherever you are on this journey, and to help you learn to be resilient and hopeful in the valleys, to be content and grateful in the plateaus, and to rejoice at the peaks of your life!
